Frances Ha (dir. Noah Baumbach, 2013)
I loved this movie so much. Everyone should watch it.
I’ve been sitting and laughing at YouTube videos for an hour. It’s great.
"Billy Eichner & Amy Poehler bombard pedestrians with Christmas carols."
Last night, Jimmy and Joaquin Phoenix entered a pact to stop smoking and stop drinking soda. One of those challenges might be sliiiightly harder than the other.
Green Street. Hudson, New York. The Friendly City.
This is where my half of my family lives. It’s quite friendly there.
Don’t mess with Henry Rollins’s froyo. (Link)
What is Henry Rollins. I watched him hosting a show on H2 earlier. What is this man and his life.
“So, to defend ourselves, and fight against assimilating this dullness into our thought processes, we must learn to read. To stimulate our own imagination. To cultivate our own consciousness. Our own belief systems. We all need these skills to defend, to preserve, our own minds.”
Be excellent to one another, you know? Just hang out, be nice, be polite, try to reject patriarchal bullshit, wear some comfortable shoes, eat some cheese, buy rock n roll records and be nice to your friends.

Might have to be one of my favourite quotes, this.
I called in Dane to come and do some chemistry reads, which is what Hollywood does nowadays where you have two actors read together to see how their chemistry is. So I had Dane come in and about 12 other actors to read opposite him that day. And Emory Cohen came in, he was about the 8th of the day. And immediately there was this tension between them in the room. I gave them an ice-breaker question; who was their favorite actor? Emory said, “Well, I always liked Marlon Brando.” Dane said, “I always liked James Dean.” And they proceeded to argue about who was better, Marlon Brando or James Dean. I thought they had this definite connection and a chip on their shoulder for each other. And that was exactly the dynamic for the movie. The first scene I shot with them was the cafeteria scene. Ray Liotta came to visit me on set that day and he was just like, “Man, looks like you’ve got two real winners here.” - Derek Cianfrance
